This presentation is provided to students, parents, and incoming teachers to assist in the understaning of the current Washimgton State Classroom Based Assesment (CBA) for 7th grade social studies students.

What is the CBA?

 The social studies CBAs are multi-steped tasks or projects to specific state standards (Social Studies Essential Academic Learning Requirements), which targets skills and knolage necessary for informed engaged citizenship.

 Why are students required to complete a CBA?

  • Answer: The state of Washington requires every seventh grade Social Studies class to complete a CBA during the calender school year .

Are all the seventh graders in social studies required to complete a CBA?

  • Answer: yes
