 About Mrs. Baker...

Mrs. Baker received her B.S. degree from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1972 and her Ed.M. degree from Washington State University in the Tri Cities in 1999.  She has been teaching 8th grade science here at Chief Joseph since we opened our doors after the remodel in 1994.  Before that, she taught sixth grade G.A.T.E. for eight years and second through sixth grade in Richland for four years.  Mrs. Baker also worked in the East Detroit Public School system for nine years from 1971 until 1980.

Mrs. Baker has been married for 37 years and has one daughter and one grandson who is in the fifth grade at Wiley Elementary School in West Richland.  She absolutely loves science and looks forward each day to learning along with her students.  The whole idea of being able to actually DO science is what creates the opportunity for real understanding.
